Yes, I'm a few days late. But it's NEVER too late to do some meal planning. I'm trying to use up some stuff from my fridge and freezer since I've not been all that impressed with the offerings at Kroger and Schnucks lately.
Monday: Chicken (in a crock pot.) It's the first time I've ever dealt with a whole chicken. Though the experience was not pleasant, at least I can say I've done it! Maybe I will be less hesitant if DH suggests it again. We had Stove Top Stuffing and steamed peas on the side.
Tuesday: Crock pot beef tips. Though good, it needed more flavor. Of course I realized after the fact that I didn't actually look at how much beef was in the package, so I may have needed to double the seasonings. At least I remembered to turn the crock pot on!
Wednesday: Chicken nuggets and steamed veggies
Thursday: Meatball Pizza with a side salad
Friday: DH is going to smoke some turkey! Green beans and mashed potatoes on the side.
Saturday: Quesadillas
Sunday: Leftover Buffet

Grocery Deals (5/6-5/12)
My grocery store sales run Wednesday to Tuesday, so here are the grocery deals I'm planning to purchase.
Kroger
Kellogg's Cereal (as low as 88¢ each) - It's on sale for $1.88 each. There are the $1/1 coupons from the 4/5 insert, $1/1 printable coupons from coupons.com, and $1/2 blinkies out there in the stores for several varieties.
Tuna (Chicken of the Sea, Starkist, and Bumble Bee) assorted varieties of 5 oz packages - It's on sale for 69¢ each. It only shows cans in the ad, but it says "assorted varieties. If the pouches are included, there are several Bumble Bee coupons from the 2/22 insert and Starkist coupons from nearly everywhere. I don't know of any coupons if it's just cans, but the price is still not bad. It's like paying $2.21/lb... and the way my boys devour tuna, $2.21 ain't a bad price.
Yoplait Yogurt, 6 oz cups (as low as 37¢ each) - They're on sale 10 for $5. Use the 40¢/6 coupon from the 4/19 insert (which should double at most stores) to get them for 37¢ each.
Schnuck's
Log on to schnucks.com starting May 11 to print up to $50 in coupons - sponsored by Kraft! There will probably be some good ones.
Large Green Peppers (50¢ each) - They're on sale 2/$1. I like to get these when they're on sale, chop them up, and freeze them to add to casseroles or the crockpot. I also do this with onions. It makes cooking a lot less stressful for a non-cook!
V-8 100% Vegetable Juice, 64 oz (as low as $1.50 each) - It's on sale 2/$5. There's are printable coupons from coupons.com ($1/1) and smartsource.com ($1/2) that will be great if I can get out and buy an ink cartridge soon enough.
Thomas English Muffins, 12-13 oz - They're buy one, get one FREE this week. Use two 50¢/1 coupon from 4/19 insert. Sorry, but I don't know the starting price.

Sunday Sales (5/3)
What I'm doing is listing the deals I am considering snagging for myself. This is essentially my own personal shopping list. Check out the links on my blog for some great sites that list even more deals. *Note - My grocery store ads run from Wednesday-Tuesday, so I will post my grocery lists on Wednesday.
CVS
There is nothing at CVS that I really need/want this week, and my ECBs don't expire until the 19th, so I'm not going to waste the time and gas to get there and back. I can't wait until they finish building the ones closer to home. They just started building one that's less than a mile from my house, but there's one only 5 miles away that is supposed to open in June!
Walgreens
Breeze 2 or Contour Glucose Monitor (earn $5) Its on sale for $14.99 - earn $5 RR. There have been coupons in various inserts to make these free up to $30. Use the coupon and pay nothing but tax, then get your $5 RR. Then, if no one you know needs the monitor, donate it!
Colgate Sensitive Toothpaste (earn 75¢) They're on sale for $4.49 - earn $4.49 RR. Use the 75¢/1 coupon from the 4/26 insert.
Pert Plus for Men (two for FREE) They're on sale for 2/$5 - earn $2 RR when you buy 2. Use two $1.50/1 coupons from the 5/3 insert.
Bayer Quick Release Crystals, 4 ct. (FREE) They're on sale for $2.49 - earn $2.49 RR.
